  1. For the meat:

  2. 1 pound ground turkey

  3. 1 Tbsp butter

  4. 1 small onion , diced

  5. 1/2 green pepper , diced

  6. 1/2 red pepper , diced

  7. 1 tsp minced garlic

  8. slider rolls, for serving

  9. For the sauce:

  10. 1/2 cup ketchup

  11. 1/2 cup water

  12. 2 Tbsp brown sugar

  13. 1 tsp chili powder

  14. 1/2 tsp ground mustard

  15. 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes

  16. 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce

  17. 2 Tbsp tomato paste

  18. 1 Tbsp hot sauce

  19. 3/4 cup your favorite BBQ sauce

  1. Heat a large skillet on medium heat and melt Tbsp butter. Add onion and cook until fragrant, about 3 minutes. Add meat and cook for about 2 minutes before adding bell peppers and garlic. Continue to cook until meat is cooked through and drain any excess fat if necessary.

  2. Now it’s time to make sauce! Add the ketchup – BBQ sauce. Season with salt and pepper, as desired. Bring to a slight boil and then turn down to a simmer. Simmer for 15 – 20 minutes to allow flavors to meld.

  3. Serve on slider buns.

  4. These taste best when served with French fries and lots of ketchup. It’s a known fact of life.
