  1. 1 lb Cherries; Tart, Fresh

  2. GARNISH -- 1 c Cream; Heavy

  3. 2 oz Almonds; Ground **

  4. 1/2 ts Vaillla Extract

  5. 8 oz Cream Cheese;

  6. 12 Ladyfingers

  7. 2 tb ;Water

  8. 6 tb Sugar

  9. 3 tb Kirsch

  10. Pistachio Nuts; Chopped

  1. * Soften Cream Cheese to room temperature.

  2. ** Grind Almonds in the blender, if ground almonds are not available.

  3. Wash and drain cherries.

  4. Remove stones and reserve 8 whole cherries for garnish.

  5. Place cherries in a bowl; add kirsch.

  6. In a small pan boil 3 T sugar and the water for a minute to make a thin sugar syrup.

  7. Add syrup to cherries; stir to blend.

  8. Cover and let soak for 20 minutes.

  9. Cut the ladyfingers in half, divide into 4 portions, and place in individual glass dishes.

  10. Arrange cherries on top.

  11. Thoroughly blend cream cheese, 3 T sugar, vanilla extract, and ground almonds.

  12. Whip the cream and carefully fold it into the cream-cheese mixture.

  13. Spoon over the cherries.

  14. Garnish with the chopped pistachio nuts and whole cherries.
