  1. ROSE HIP JELLY

  2. 1 pint rose-hips

  3. peelings from two tart apples

  4. water

  5. 2 cups sugar

  6. 1/2 cup lemon juice

  7. Take one pint of rose-hips and peelings from two tart apples; cover

  8. with water and cook until tender. Crush and let drip through thin

  9. muslin bag for clearness. Measure two cups of juice and add two

  10. cups sugar and bring to the boiling point. Add 1/2 cup lemon juice

  11. 12 to 15 minutes. Test for jell after

  12. minutes, if boiled too long it will toughen.

  13. Yields 2 cups
