  1. 1 cup 237ml Boiling water

  2. 2 Frozen green beans

  3. 1 teaspoon 5ml Salt

  4. 1/8 teaspoon 0.6ml Pepper

  5. 1 Bay leaf

  6. 3 Cloves

  7. 2 tablespoons 30ml Sugar

  8. 4 tablespoons 60ml Vinegar

  9. 3 tablespoons 45ml Butter or fat

  1. Combine the water, beans, salt, pepper, bay leaf and cloves in a saucepan. Cover and cook over low heat 3 minutes less than package directs. Drain and add the sugar, vinegar and butter or fat. Cook 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Remove bay leaf. Serves 6.
