  1. 1 (15 ounce) can dark sweet cherries , drained

  2. 1 large tart apple , pared, cored, diced

  3. cup vinegar

  4. cup brown sugar , packed

  5. 1 teaspoon salt

  6. 1 teaspoon ground ginger

  7. 1 1/2 teaspoons fresh garlic , minced

  8. teaspoon red chile , crushed

  1. In a heavy medium-size saucepan, combine all ingredients & bring to a boil.

  2. Reduce heat & simmer 20 to 30 minutes until thickened.

  3. Serve hot or cold with any type of meat. Rrefrigerate any leftovers.
