  1. 12 ounce(s) dried pear halves , chopped (2 cups)

  2. 1 large red onion , finely chopped (1 cup)

  3. 2 1/2 cup(s) pear nectar

  4. 2 cup(s) dark seedless and/or golden raisins

  5. 3/4 cup(s) cider vinegar

  6. 1/2 cup(s) dried tart cherries

  7. 1/3 cup(s) sugar

  8. 1 tablespoon(s) mustard seeds

  9. 1 tablespoon(s) grated, peeled fresh ginger

  10. 1/4 teaspoon(s) salt

  11. 1 stick(s) (3-inch) cinnnamon

  1. In 4-quart saucepan, heat all ingredients and 1 cup water to boiling over high heat, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to low; simmer, uncovered, 15 minutes or until pears are very soft, stirring frequently.

  2. Discard cinnamon stick. Spoon chutney into jars for gift giving. Store in refrigerator for up to a month.
