  1. 8 slices bacon

  2. 8 slices pumpernickel or rye bread

  3. 3 tablespoons bottled Russian or thousand island dressing

  4. 8 thin deli-cut slices (4 ounces) Swiss cheese, preferably Jarlsberg

  5. 8 thin deli-cut slices (4 ounces) turkey breast

  6. 1 large tomato, cut in

  7. 8 slices

  8. 1 tablespoon butter or margarine

  1. Cook bacon in a large skillet until crisp. Drain on paper towels; cover to keep warm. Remove skillet from heat and pour off drippings. Wipe skillet clean with paper towels.

  2. Spread each slice bread with dressing. Top each of 4 slices bread with 2 slices each cheese, turkey, bacon, tomato, then 2 more slices cheese. Cover with remaining bread.

  3. Melt half the butter in the skillet over medium-low heat. Add sandwiches, cover loosely with a lid or foil and cook until nicely browned on bottom, about 5 minutes. Turn, add remaining butter, cover and cook 5 minutes longer or until underside is crisp and filling is hot. Remove to a cutting board; cut in quarters.
