  6. 1 tb Olive oil

  7. 4 Shallots, chopped

  8. 2 Stalks celery, sliced

  9. 2 md Carrots, coarsely chopped

  10. 2 md Potatoes, diced

  11. 1 tb Ground coriander

  12. 2 ts Ground cumin

  13. 1/2 ts Ground cinnamon

  14. 1/4 ts Ground cloves

  15. ds Nutmeg, ground

  16. 2 lb Pumpkin, peeled, seeded

  17. -and coarsely chopped 5 c Vegetable stock

  18. Plain yogurt

  19. Cilantro leaves

  20. 3-quart saucepan. Add shallots and celery and saute

  21. 5 minutes.

  22. Add carrots and potatoes and saute 5 minutes longer. Add coriander, cumin,

  23. cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg. Stir-fry 2 minutes. Add pumpkin and Vegetable

  24. Stock, bring to boil, cover and simmer gently 20 minutes, or until all

  25. vegetables are tender.

  26. Blend soup in food processor or blender until smooth. Return to pan, adjust

  27. seasonings to taste and heat through. Serve hot, garnished with swirl of

  28. 4 to 6 servings.

  29. "Miff" is Pickford's aunt, who served this soup at Guy Fawkes night

  30. celebrations every Nov. 5. It's also perfect for Halloween.
