  1. 1/2 cup sugar , divided in half

  2. 6 egg yolks

  3. 4 cups warm milk

  4. 1/4 teaspoon salt

  5. 6 egg whites

  6. 2 cups whipped cream, beaten stiff

  7. 2 teaspoons vanilla nutmeg

  1. Beat 1/4 cup sugar and egg yolks until light and fluffy.

  2. Add milk and cook in a doulble boiler until mixture coats a spoon.

  3. Let cool and chill.

  4. Add salt to egg whites, beat, gradually adding in 1/4 cup sugar.

  5. Beat until stiff peaks form.

  6. Fold egg whites and whipped cream into egg/milk mixture one at a time.

  7. Add vanilla.

  8. Chill very well.

  9. Stir before serving, pour into cups and sprinkle with nutmeg. ?
