  1. 1 C yogurt

  2. 1/2 tsp garlic , minced

  3. 1/2 tsp ginger , grated

  4. 1 tsp ground cumin

  5. 1 tsp poppy seed s, ground

  6. 1/2 tsp ground cardamom

  7. 1/2 tsp ground clove

  8. 2 tsp dried red chili pepper

  9. 1/2 tsp ground tumeric

  10. 1/2 black pepper

  11. 2 tsp salt

  12. 2 tbsp chickpea flour

  13. 2 lbs beef

  14. 3 tbsp vegetable oil

  15. 1 medium yellow onion , chopped

  16. 1/4 C green chili sliced thin

  17. 2 tbsp lemon juice

  18. 1/4 C cilantro , chopped

  1. In a large bowl combine yogurt, ginger, garlic, poppy seeds, cumin, black pepper, cardamom, clove, chickpea flour, red chili pepper flakes, turmeric powder and salt. Mix well to make a thick paste. Add beef and marinate with yogurt paste, rubbing well. Marinate it for 4 to 6 hours. Heat oil in a pot and and fry onions over medium-high heat until golden brown. Add beef to saucepan, cover, reduce heat to low and cook until beef is tender, about 45 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add green chilies, cilantro, and lemon juice and cook 5 minutes more on low heat.
