Whipping and folding tells me it's lighter than some versions of peanut butter dessert. Raspberry or your favorite jelly melted and drizzled, with some white chocolate shavings & whipped cream on the side as like the glass of milk you'd drink with it. (Replacing the nuts, chocolate sauce, and ice cream). I think it would be like a grown up version of PB&J that could be enjoyed in groups without it getting stuck on the roof of your mouth, LOL. I've always shy-ed away from dark corn syrup in recipes, recalling it as quite pronounced in flavor, so if there's something else that could do it's job in this recipe like light corn syrup or something entirely different. I'm not sure what it's function is in this pie but I think omitting it might make the pie even lighter and more lending to this light modern PB&J idea.

The previous poster talked about PB&J -- I would NOT add jelly (mainly because I have always HATED the combo of pb&j -- bu tknow many like itl. To each their own. I'm sure its great. But not for me.
I'd probably add some chocolate (chocolate freak that I am) .. maybe chocolate or some Nutella (hazenut choco spread) ... as I find it a good combo w/ peanut butter.

I don't "HATE" pb&j per se, actually like the flavor contrasts, but it can be a bit much sometimes cause it's all so heavy and thick and that's when I go for these alternate peanut butter combos. I'd always thought of Nutella as a peanut butter SUBSTITUTE but thanks for opening my eyes! I'm gonna pick some up on my next trip to the market and add one more mate to my peanut butter obsession, maybe with pretzels or a warm tortilla for a quick snack.

Top with whipped cream and drizzle with chocolate and carmel sauce and garnish with some white, peanut butter and milk mini choco chips.

And I would mix in peanuts in the filling mixture. You could then top the Nutella layer with marshmallows and toast them a bit with a kitchen torch.
I also like the idea of using a chocolate-y crust instead of a normal pie crust.
Or! You could put half the peanut butter filling in the crust, bake it for a bit so it sets, and then do a chocolate/Nutella layer, and then the rest of the PB filling and bake, so then it's a layered pie.

I still like the chocolate and peanuts on the top.

I would put some melted dark chocolate morsels on top of the crust. Then mix the peanut butter with 3/4 cup of brown sugar, 1 tsp. vanilla, and 1/2 block of cream cheese. On top of that, I would put some more dark chocolate morsels to decorate.

I would like to see a chocolate chip cookie crust along with the peanut butter pie and a thicker chocolate topping = temper dark chocolate with a heavy whipping cream into a creamy melt - then spread over the peanut butter portion and allow to cool On Sep 25, 2011 11:02 PM Reply Report Abuse Posted by rwilson5 Joined on3/7/2011 Posts: 1 Re: Recipe Redo: Peanut Butter Lover’s Pie I like this only instead of peanut butter chips I would use mini chocolate chips...like a Kentucky Derby Pie..and top it with whipped cream.
