  1. 2 cups flour

  2. 1 cup shortening

  3. 1 tsp salt

  4. 1/2 cup water

  5. 1/2 hour or so makes it easier to handle. Turn out on well floured board and knead

  6. 4 or 5 times. No amount of handling can spoil this crust. It is always tender and kneading in the flour makes it flakier. I find that using biscuit mix on the board will make it still flakier.
