  1. 1 large granny smith apple , peeled, thinly sliced

  2. 1 tablespoon sugar

  3. 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  4. 2 tablespoons butter or 2 tablespoons margarine

  5. 1 cup flour

  6. 1/2 teaspoon salt

  7. 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

  8. 1 egg

  9. 1 cup breakstone's or knudsen sour cream , divided

  10. 1/2 cup milk

  1. Toss apples with sugar and cinnamon; set aside.

  2. Melt butter in large nonstick skillet on medium-low heat.

  3. Add apple mixture; cook 4 minute or until apples begin to soften and are evenly coated with sugar glaze, stirring occasionally.

  4. Remove from heat; set aside.

  5. Mix flour, salt and baking soda in large bowl; set aside.

  6. Beat egg, 1/2 cup of the sour cream and the milk with wire whisk until well blended.

  7. Add to flour mixture; stir just until moistened.

  8. Gently stir in apples.

  9. Heat nonstick griddle or large nonstick skillet on medium heat.

  10. Drop batter by tablespoonfuls onto hot griddle.

  11. Cook until bubbles form on tops, then turnover to brown other side.

  12. Serve warm, topping each with a scant teaspoonful of the remaining 1/2 cup sour cream just before serving.
