  1. 1/2 c Un-salted butter

  2. 3/4 c Granulated sugar

  3. 1 lg Egg

  4. 1 1/2 c All-purpose flour

  5. 1/2 ts Baking soda

  6. 1/2 ts Salt

  7. 1 c Blanched almonds; fine chop

  8. 2 ts Grated orange peel

  9. 1/2 ts Vanilla extract

  10. 1 Egg; lightly beaten

  11. 36 Blanched almonds

  12. 1" apart. Dip your thumb in some flour and make an indentation in the center of each cookie. Brush each cookie with the lightly beaten egg and place a whole almond in the center of each indentation. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until the cookies are golden brown at the edges and puffed.
