  1. 1 cup plus 2 Tbsp all-purpose flour

  2. 1 1/2 Tbsp cornstarch

  3. 1/4 tsp baking soda

  4. 1/4 tsp kosher salt

  5. 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, at room temperature

  6. 3/4 cup sugar

  7. 1 large egg

  8. 1 tsp pure vanilla extract

  9. 1 tsp orange extract

  10. 2 tsp grated orange zest

  11. 1 tsp grated lemon zest

  12. 1 piece dried mango, thinly sliced into 1-in. slivers

  1. Heat oven to 350°F. Line several baking sheets with parchment paper. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking soda and salt.

  2. Using an electric mixer, beat the butter and sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy. Add the egg, vanilla and orange extracts, and orange and lemon zests; beat to combine. With the mixer on low, gradually add the flour mixture, mixing just until incorporated.

  3. Drop level teaspoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them 2 in. apart. Gently press 2 mango slivers, if using, across the top of each mound of dough to create an X.

  4. Bake until the wafers are golden brown around the edges, 6 to 8 minutes. Let the cookies cool on the sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
