  1. 4 squares unsweetened baking chocolate

  2. 1 1/4 cups hot water

  3. 1 cup sugar

  4. 1/4 teaspoon salt

  5. 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

  1. Preparation : Heat chocolate with water in heavy saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly, until thick, well blended and very smooth. Add sugar and salt, and bring to a boil and cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; add vanilla and cool. Store in the refrigerator in tightly covered jar. Makes 2 cups
