  5. 24 oz Frozen pureed winter squash

  6. - (butternut), defrosted

  7. 2 tb Unsalted butter or margarine

  8. 1 c Unsweetened applesauce

  9. 1 c Light cream

  10. 1 1/2 c Chicken stock

  11. 1/4 c Ground toasted walnuts

  12. 2 ts Dried chervil; crumbled

  13. 1/2 ts Ground mace

  14. Salt

  15. White pepper

  16. 1/2 c Toasted walnut pieces

  17. - for garnish

  18. COMBINE ALL THE INGREDIENTS except the walnuts to be used for garnish in a

  19. large saucepan and stir to blend well. Cook the soup over medium heat until

  20. 6 to 8 minutes. Ladle the soup into bowls and add a

  21. few chopped walnut pieces in the center. --
