  1. 1 pkg. dry yeast

  2. 2 c. warm water

  3. 4 c. self-rising flour

  4. 1/4 c. sugar

  5. 3/4 c. melted shortening

  6. 1 egg, well beaten

  1. Dissolve yeast in warm water. Mix together with all other ingredients. Store covered in refrigerator and use as desired. Will keep several days. To cook, spoon batter into well greased muffin tins 2/3 full and bake immediately at 425 degrees for 20 minutes.
