  1. 1 jar of fresh oyster s Buttermilk to cover oysters Hot Sauce to taste Morton's Nature's Seasoning ( salt , pepper and garlic salt combo) to taste

  2. 1 cup yellow cornmeal

  3. 1 cup all purpose flour Vegetable oil for frying

  1. Soak oysters in buttermilk and hot sauce and seasoning. Combine cornmeal and flour and add seasoning (several good shakes). Heat oil in skillet (iron is best). Dredge oysters in the cornmeal/flour mix. When oil is hot, not smoking, lay oysters, in batches, into the skillet. Do not crowd. Cook until golden brown on both sides about 2 minutes per side. Remove with slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
