  1. + Fresh green herbs, washed and chopped, by themselves or with other flavour combinations make delicious fillings for toasted sandwiches.

  2. Combine them with cottage Or cream cheese, mayonnaise or butter (see recipe for making "herb butter" page 8).

  3. Spread filling on whole wheat or brown bread.

  4. Remember, butter outsides of bread and toast in your Snack'n'Sandwich maker Basil) and Tomato Spread slice of bread with cream cheese.

  5. Add a layer of sliced tomato.

  6. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, sugar and fresh chopped basil.

  7. Top with a slice of bread, and toast.

  9. 1/2 tablespoons cottage cheese, add 1 tablespoon chopped chives, salt and pepper, mix well, Spread mixture between two slices of bread, and toast.

  12. NOTE : The above, except for the Basil and Tomato filling may be used as fillings for roll-ups.

  13. Mint and Pineapple Follow directions as above, substitute 2 teaspoons chopped mint and add 1 tablespoon crushed pineapple.

  14. Parsley and Cheese Spread two slices of bread with vegemite.

  15. Combine 1/4 cup grated tasty cheese with 1 tablespoon chopped parsley and a pinch of paprika.

  16. Spread mixture between two slices of bread and toast.
