  1. 1 cup Basmati rice

  2. 2 cups Water

  3. 2 tablespoons Butter

  4. 3 Cardamom pods (up to)

  5. 2 Slivers of cinnamon (1 normal sized piece should do 4 batches of rice)

  6. 1 pinch Saffron

  7. Salt

  1. I tried to replicate the rice that is served in a nearby Indian restaurant and believe this to be very close. Anyway, it's good! How can you go wrong with basmati?

  2. Saute the rice in the butter for a couple of minutes. Add the water and spices and bring to a boil, cover and simmer ~15 minutes. I sometimes add a handful of frozen English peas, too.
