  1. 1/2 cup shortening

  2. 1 cup packed brown sugar

  3. 1 egg

  4. 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

  5. 1/2 cup BREAKSTONE'S® Sour Cream

  6. 2 cups all-purpose flour

  7. 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

  8. 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

  9. 1 cup butterscotch chips

  10. 1 cup chopped dates

  1. In a large bowl, cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Add sour cream; beat just until combined. Combine the flour, baking powder and baking soda; gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well. Stir in butterscotch chips and dates. Drop by tablespoonfuls 2 in. apart onto greased baking sheets. Bake at 425° for 8-12 minutes or until lightly browned and set. Remove to wire racks. Yield: 2 dozen.
