  1. 1 tablespoon 15ml Salt

  2. 4 cups 948ml Finely shredded cabbage

  3. 1/2 cup 99g / 3 1/2oz Butter or fat

  4. 1 teaspoon 5ml Sugar

  5. 1/4 teaspoon 1 1/3ml Pepper

  6. 3 cups 711ml Cooked broad noodles - drained

  1. Mix the salt and cabbage together and let stand 30 minutes. Squeeze out all the liquid.

  2. Heat the butter or fat in a deep skillet. Add the cabbage, sugar and pepper. Cook over low heat 45 minutes or until cabbage is browned. Stir very frequently. Add the noodles and toss to blend thoroughly. Serves 6 to 8.
