  1. 8 medium potatoes

  2. 1/2 teaspoon salt

  3. 1/4 teaspoon white pepper

  4. 1 pinch grated nutmeg

  5. 1 cup scalded milk

  6. 1 cup light cream

  7. 1 egg -- beaten

  8. 1/4 cup grated Swiss cheese

  1. Preparation : Peel potatoes and cut into slices approximately 1/4-inch thick. In a bowl, combine potatoes, salt, pepper, nutmeg, milk, cream, egg, and grated cheese. Turn mixture into a buttered baking dish. Dot with butter. Bake at 400F for 1 hour, or until potatoes are tender and top is browned. Serve hot.
