  2. 2/3 cup fat --

  3. 2 cups sugar

  4. 1 cup hot mashed potato -- unseasoned

  5. 1/2 cup sweet milk or coffee

  6. 2 cups fisher's blend pastry flour

  7. 2 teaspoons baking powder

  8. 1/4 teaspoon salt

  9. 1/2 cup ghirardelli's ground chocolate

  10. 1 teaspoon cinnamon

  11. 1 teaspoon cloves

  12. 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

  13. 1 cup chopped nuts

  14. 4 eggs

  1. Cream butter and sugar, add beaten egg yolks and hot mashed potatoes. Sift together three times flour, baking powder, salt, chocolate, spices and add alternately with milk. Add nuts and fold in stiffly beaten whites. Bake in three greased layer cake pans in a moderate oven (about 350 F) 30 minutes. When cool, spread with Marshmallow Frosting. (To make frosting add about 18 marshmallows to hot boiled icing and beat until ready to spread). Sprinkle top of cake with chopped nuts.
