  1. 8 ounces spaghetti broken

  2. 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

  3. 1/3 cup parmesan cheese

  4. 1 teaspoon salt

  5. 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

  6. 1 egg beaten

  7. 1-1/2 pounds lean ground beef browned

  8. 1/2 cup white onion chopped

  9. 1/2 cup green bell pepper chopped

  10. 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

  11. 1 large jar spaghetti sauce

  12. 1 tablespoon granulated sugar

  13. 1 teaspoon oregano

  14. 1 teaspoon garlic salt

  15. 1 cup large curd cottage cheese

  16. 4 ounces mozzarella cheese

  1. Cook spaghetti and drain well.

  2. Stir in butter, Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper and egg until combined.

  3. Pour into a greased rectangular pan.

  4. Spread cottage cheese over spaghetti.

  5. Brown hamburger, onion and green pepper in oil until meat is browned.

  6. Drain and stir in spaghetti sauce, sugar, oregano and garlic salt.

  7. Pour over spaghetti and cottage cheese layer then bake at 350 for 30 minutes.

  8. Sprinkle Mozzarella cheese over meat and bake 10 minutes longer. Let stand a few minutes before cutting.
