  1. 1 Chipotle chilies in adobo sauce

  2. 2 cups 474ml Boiling water

  3. 2 tablespoons 30ml Tomato paste

  4. 1 tablespoon 15ml Strong red wine or balsamic vinegar or - more to taste

  5. 2 tablespoons 30ml Brown sugar

  1. Blend the chilies and water together in a food processor or blender until smooth. Add the other ingredients and blend again. Taste and adjust the flavorings as desired. Serve salsa with beans, eggs or in soups.

  2. Makes 2 cups.
