  5. 24 oz Firm tofu

  6. 2 tb Oil

  7. 1/2 ts Salt

  8. 1 sm Onion, thinly sliced

  9. 6 md Mushrooms, sliced

  10. 1 sm Carrot, cut into matchsticks

  11. 2 md Green bell peppers, thinly

  12. -- sliced 1 tb Sake or white wine

  13. 1 1/2 tb Soy sauce

  14. 1 ts Grated ginger

  15. 1 tb Sugar

  16. 1 tb Water

  17. 1 ts Cornstarch dissolved in

  18. -- tb water

  19. Cut tofu crosswise into pieces the shape of

  20. French-fried potatoes. Heat a wok, coat with oil &

  21. sprinkle on the salt. Add onion, then the mushrooms,

  22. stir frying each over high heat for about 30 seconds.

  23. Reduce heat to medium-low. Add carrot, green pepper &

  24. tofu in that order, sauteeing each for about 1 minute.

  25. Reduce heat to low & add sake, soy sauce, ginger,

  26. 3 to 4 minutes. Stir in

  27. dissolved cornstarch & simmer 30 seconds for another

  28. 30 seconds.
