  1. 1 teaspoon methi -- (fenugreek)

  2. 2 tablespoons chana daal seeds

  3. 4 tablespoons coriander seeds

  4. 4 red chiles

  5. 1 teaspoon hing

  6. 3 tablespoons coconut -- (grated)

  7. 3 tablespoons oil

  1. Preparation : 1. Roast methi, chana daal, and hing.

  2. Add chiles when daal starts getting red.

  3. If using dry coconut, soak it in a little water and blend the daal mixture and coconut until the paste is fine. Keep aside.
