  1. 1 carrot, thinly sliced

  2. 3/4 cup cabbage

  3. 3 lettuce leaves

  4. 3 spring onions with greens

  5. 3 sticks celery (ajmoda)

  6. 50 gms sliced cauliflower

  7. 2 tbsp oil

  8. pinch of baking powder

  9. a pinch of citric acid (nimbu ka phool)

  10. 2 tsp soy sauce

  11. salt to taste

  12. To Serve chillies in vinegar

  13. chilli sauce

  1. Tear the cabbage and lettuce leaves.

  2. Chop the spring onions with the leaves.

  3. Cut the celery into about 12 mm. Pieces.

  4. Heat the oil thoroughly. Add the vegetables, baking powder and citric acid and cook on a high flame for 3 to 4 minutes.

  5. Add 5 teacups of boiling water, the soya sauce and salt and boil for 3 to 4 minutes.

  6. Serve hot with chillies in vinegar and chilli sauce.
