  1. Bulghur Burgers

  2. 4 cups water

  3. 2 cups bulghur

  4. 2 tablespoons oil

  5. 1 onion, diced

  6. 2 beets, grated

  7. 2 carrots, diced

  8. 1/2 head cabbage, chopped fine

  9. 3 tablespoons tamari

  10. 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  11. In a large pot, heat the water to a boil. Add the bulghur, reduce

  12. heat, and cook for 20 minutes, until the bulghur is soft anf the

  13. water is absorbed. Set aside.

  14. Preheat oven to 350. Heat the oil in a large skillet, over medium-high

  15. heat; add the onions and saute for 3 minutes. Add the beets, carrots

  16. and cabbage, and saute for 7 minutes more. Add the seasonings.

  17. Remove from heat and combine with the bulghur.

  18. Shape the batter into burgers to fit buns. Place on oiled cookie

  19. 20 minutes; turn over and bake for 29 minutes
