  1. 1/2 cup peeled, seeded lychees, drained and finely diced (see Note)

  2. 1/2 cup ketchup

  3. 1/2 cup white wine

  4. 1/4 cup brown sugar

  5. 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

  6. 2 cloves garlilc, minced

  7. 1/2 teaspoon chili powder

  8. 3 dashes hot sauce

  9. 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

  10. 1/4 teaspoon onion powder

  1. Combine lychees, ketchup , white wine , brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce , garlic , chili powder, hot sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder in a heavy saucepan. Bring to a boil, lower heat, and simmer, stirring occasionally, about 30 minutes or until thickened.

  2. Use lychee barbecue sauce on meat , poultry , and seafood .

  3. Note: Lychees are also called litchis. This recipe calls for the fresh or canned lychees, not the dried lychee nuts.

  4. Yield: about 1 cup
