  1. 1 tb Butter or margarine

  2. 6 Small onions,quartered

  3. 1 pk Sliced cooked ham(4 1/2oz)

  4. 2 1/2oz Sliced mushrooms,drained

  5. 2 tb Flour

  6. 1 Clove garlic,crushed

  7. 1/2ts Sugar

  8. 1/4ts Salt

  9. 1/8ts Ground thyme

  10. 1/8ts Ground marjoram

  11. 1 ds Ground pepper

  12. 1 c Dry red wine

  13. 1/2c Water

  14. 1 ts Instant beef bouillon

  15. 4 Hard-cooked eggs

  16. 4 Sliced buttered toast

  1. + Melt butter in 10-inch skillet.

  2. Cook and stir onions in butter until onions are light brown.

  3. Add ham and mushrooms; cook and stir over low heat 2 minutes.

  4. Stir in flour, garlic, sugar, salt, thyme, marjoram and butter.

  5. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until hot and bubbly.

  6. Remove from heat.

  7. Stir in wine, water and instant bouillon.

  8. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly; reduce heat.

  9. Cover and simmer 20 minutes.

  10. Arrange egg slices on toast; spoon sauce over egg slices.
