  5. 4 c Unbleached Flour, Sifted

  6. 1/4 ts Ground Nutmeg

  7. 2 ts Baking Soda

  8. 1 1/3 c Vegetable Shortening

  9. 1 ts Salt

  10. 1 c Sugar

  11. 1 ts Ground Cinnamon

  12. 4 ea Large Eggs, Slightly Beaten

  13. 1 ts Ground Ginger

  14. 1 c Molasses

  15. 1/4 ts Ground Cloves

  16. 1 c Butter/Sour Milk

  17. 1/4 ts Ground Allspice

  18. 1 c Raisins

  19. Sift together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, allspice

  20. and nutmeg; set aside.

  21. Cream together shortening and sugar in mixing bowl until light anf fluffy,

  22. using electric mixer at medium speed. Add eggs beat well. Blend in

  23. molasses and butter/sour milk. Add dry ingredients all at once, stirring

  24. just enough to moisten. Stir in raisins. Spoon into greased 3-inch

  25. muffin-pan cups, filling 1/2 full.

  26. 350 degree oven

  27. 20 minutes or until golden brown. Serve hot with

  28. butter and jam.

  29. NOTE:

  30. Batter can be stored in refrigerator in covered container for up to 3

  31. weeks. --
