  1. 3/4 cup butter, softened

  2. 1/2 cup sugar

  3. 1 egg

  4. 1 cup maple syrup

  5. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  6. 3 cups quick-cooking oats

  7. 1-1/4 cups all-purpose flour

  8. 1 teaspoon baking soda

  9. 1/2 teaspoon salt

  10. 1/2 cup chopped pecans

  11. 1/2 cup raisins

  1. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg, syrup and vanilla. Combine the oats, flour, baking soda and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well. Stir in pecans and raisins. Drop by tablespoonfuls 2 in. apart onto greased baking sheets. Bake at 350° for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool for 2 minutes before removing from pans to wire racks. Yield: 5-1/2 dozen.
