  1. Country cornmeal Drop biscuits

  2. 1 cup all-purpose flour

  3. 1 cup yellow cornmeal

  4. 2 tablespoons sugar

  5. 2 teaspoons baking powder

  6. 1/2 teaspoon salt

  7. 3 tablespoons cold butter

  8. 2 tablespoons canned green chilies , chopped

  9. 2 tablespoons canned pimiento peppers , chopped

  10. 1 egg , beaten

  11. 1/2 cup milk

  12. optional: (for top)

  13. 1/2 tsp poppy seeds

  14. 1/2 tsp sesame seeds

  15. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour , cormeal, sugar , baking powder , and saltCut in the butter until the mixture is crumbly. Add the chilies and pimientos

  16. Stir in the beaten egg and milk , just until combined.

  17. 2 tablespoons each, onto an oiled baking sheet. Bake the biscuits in a

  18. 450 degree oven for 13 to 15 minutes.

  19. OPTIONAL (BUT GOOD)

  20. Brush tops of biscuits with egg whiteCombine poppy seeds and sesame seeds in a small bowl, and sprinkle seed mixture evenly over biscuit tops.
