  1. 4 cups flour

  2. 2 cups brown sugar

  3. 1 teaspoon baking soda

  4. 3 tablespoons shortening

  5. 2 cups molasses

  6. 2 beaten eggs

  7. 2 cups hot water

  8. 1 teaspoon baking soda, dissolved in the hot water

  1. Mix together to form the crumbs. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Mix all syrup ingredients together. Add 1/2 of the crumb mixture. Blend well. Pour into and unbaked pie shell .
