  1. 2/3 cups packed brown sugar

  2. 1/3-cup butter or margarine

  3. 1/3 cup golden corn syrup

  4. 2 1/2cups rolled oats

  5. 1/4 cup all purpose flour

  6. 1/2cup raisins or chopped dried apricots

  7. 1 large egg

  8. 1 tsp vanilla

  9. In a glass bowl combine brown sugar, butter and corn syrup. Microwave on high for 2 minutes and stir until smooth. Microwave for another minute until bubbly and sugar is dissolved.

  10. Stir in rolled oats, flour and raisins. In a bowl beat egg and vanilla. Stir into rolled oats mixture.

  11. 13 by 9 in. pan lined with greased tin foil. Bake in a

  12. 350 F oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown around the edges. Let cool

  13. 10 minutes in pan lift out and cut into bars of your size choice. Transfer to rack to cool completely.
