  2. 1/2cup buttermilk , we substituted with sour milk.

  3. 2/3 cup milk with white vinegar added.

  4. 1/4 all purpose flour

  5. 2 tsp. baking powder

  6. 1 tsp. baking soda

  7. 1/2 tsp. salt

  8. 1/2 cup shortening

  1. Beat eggs, beat in remaining ingredients with rotary beater until smooth.

  2. Pour batter from pitcher onto center of hot waffle iron. Cook until iron turns off. Remove and serve.
