  1. 1 onion, chopped

  2. 1 celery rib, chopped

  3. 3 tablespoons butter

  4. 3/4 pound ground beef

  5. 1/2 teaspoon salt

  6. 1 cabbage, chopped

  7. 2 apples, cored and sliced

  1. In a skillet, saute chopped onion and chopped celery rib in butter for 2 minutes. Add ground beef and salt; cook, stirring, for another 2 minutes. Spread half of chopped cabbage in a 2-quart baking dish and cover with half of sliced apples and the meat mixture. Add the remaining cabbage and apple slices. Cover and bake at 350 °F (175°C) for 1 hour.
