  1. 1 teaspoon 5ml Peanut oil

  2. 5 Garlic cloves - minced

  3. 3 Shallots - minced

  4. 3 cups 711ml Fish or chicken stock

  5. 2 tablespoons 30ml Fish sauce - (if Nam Pla not Available, use any oriental fish sauce)

  6. 1/4 lb 113g / 4oz Crabmeat - shells removed

  7. 1/4 lb 113g / 4oz Shrimp - shells removed

  8. 1 Creamed corn - (15 oz)

  9. 1/2 teaspoon 2 1/2ml Black peppercorns - cracked

  10. 1 Egg - beaten

  11. 2 tablespoons 30ml Chopped cilantro

  1. Recipe Instructions In a large saucepan, saute the garlic and shallots in the oil until they are light brown. Add the stock, fish sauce, crab, shrimp, corn, and black pepper. Bring to a boil, pour in the beaten egg, and stir to create egg strands. Boil for another minute, then ladle into soup bowls and top with a sprinkling of cilantro.
