  1. 2 pounds beef stew meat -- cut up

  2. 16 ounces sour cream

  3. 1 cup red wine

  4. 1 pound mushrooms (you can cheat and use canned)

  5. 1 package lipton brand dry soup mix

  6. 1 can campbells brand mushroom soup

  7. 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  8. 1 dash louisiana hot sauce -- salt and pepper

  1. Preparation : Mix all ingrediants, cover tightly, bake at 300 degrees for 3 hours. Don't peek! Serve hot over noodles. (A Cajun friend who went only by his first name which I have translated into polite language taught me this when I was quite young. I found in later years that people outside Louisiana refer to this dish as Beef Stroganoff..
