  1. 1/4 c Crisco Oil

  2. 2 Onions, medium, thinly slice

  3. 2 lb Fish fillets

  4. 1/2 ts Salt

  5. 1/4 ts Pepper

  6. 3 Tomatoes, seeded, chopped

  7. 2 Lemons, thinly sliced

  8. 1 Bayleaf

  9. 1 tb White vinegar

  10. 1 tb Sugar

  1. * 1/2-inch thick, cut into serving size peices Preheat oven to 325F degrees.

  2. Heat oil in deep skillet with ovenproof handle.

  3. Add onions.

  4. Saute' over mederate heat until tender.

  5. Remove from heat.

  6. Arrange fish on onion.

  7. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.

  8. Top with tomatoes and lemons.

  9. Add bayleaf.

  10. Sprinkle with vinegar and sugar.

  11. Cover.

  12. Bake at 325 degrees 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until fish flakes easily with fork.

  13. Remove and discard bayleaf.
