  7. 6 Large fresh nectarines

  8. 1/3 cup Flour

  9. 1/2 cup Sugar

  10. 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon

  11. 1/4 teaspoon Salt

  12. 1 teaspoon Grated lemon peel

  13. Pastry for two-crust -- 9-inch

  14. 2 tablespoons Unsalted butter

  15. 2 tablespoons Sugar

  16. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Slice the nectarines (about 6 cups).

  17. Combine the flour, sugar, cinnamon, salt, and lemon peel. Mix lightly

  18. with the nectarines. Roll half the pastry to fit into a deep 9-inch pie

  19. plate.

  20. Spoon the nectarine mixture into the crust. Dot with the butter. Roll

  21. the remaining pastry. Place over the fruit. Crimp the edges to seal

  22. well. Cut slits in the top to allow the steam to escape. Sprinkle with

  23. the sugar.

  24. Bake for 45 minutes or until nicely browned.
