  2. German Lentil Soup with Frankfurters

  6. 1 Med Onions -- peeled & chopped

  7. 2 cup Lentils -- washed & drained

  8. 1 Clove Garlic -- crushed

  9. Bay Leaf

  10. 1 Med Carrots,

  11. 1 1/2 teaspoon Salt

  12. 1 Stalks Celery,

  13. 1/4 teaspoon Pepper

  14. 2 tablespoon Salad Oil

  15. 1 pound Frankfurters -- sliced thickly

  16. 8 cup Water

  17. 2 tablespoon Cider Vinegar

  18. Saute onions, garlic, carrots, and celery in heated oil in a large kettle for 5

  19. minutes. Add water, lentils, bay leaf, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil. Lower

  20. heat and cook slowly, covered, about 30 minutes, until lentils are just tender.

  21. Add frankfurters and cook another 10 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in

  22. vinegar. Remove and discard bay leaf.
