  1. 1 cup honey

  2. 1/2 cup applesauce

  3. 1/2 cup reduced calorie margarine

  4. 4 egg whites

  5. 1 teaspoon vanilla

  6. 2 cups all purpose flour

  7. 1 cup quick cooking rolled oats

  8. 2 teaspoons baking powder

  9. 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

  10. 1/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

  11. Preheat oven to 350. Spray cookie sheet with nonstick vegetable cooking spray.

  12. Cream honey, applesauce and margarine in large bowl with electric mixer until smooth. Beat in egg whites, one at a time, then add vanilla. Combine flour, oats, baking powder, baking soda and salt in medium bowl; mix well. Add dry ingredients to honey mixture; mix thoroughly. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Heap teaspoonfuls of the mixture onto cookie sheet.

  13. 12-16 minutes or until lightly browned. Let cookies stand 1 minute, then remove and place on wire racks to cool. Makes

  14. 5 dozen cookies.
