  1. ENGLISH BEEF POT PIE

  2. Yield: 4 servings

  3. 2 lb beef round steak, cut into 1-inch cubes

  4. 3 tb flour

  5. 1 ts salt

  6. 1/4 ts pepper

  7. 2 carrots, pared & sliced

  8. 3 potatoes, peeled & sliced

  9. 1 onion, large, thinly sliced

  10. 1 cn whole tomatoes (16.oz)

  11. Place steak cubes in crock-pot. Combine flour, salt and pepper,

  12. toss with steak to coat thoroughly.

  13. Stir in remaining ingredients except Biscuit Topping and mix

  14. 7 to 10 hours.

  15. One hour before serving, remove meat and vegetables from crock-pot

  16. 2-1/2-quart baking dish. Preheat oven to

  17. degrees. Cover meat mixture with Biscuit Topping. Bake for 20 to

  18. 25 minutes.

  19. 4 servings 2-1/2 quarts

  20. Biscuit topping

  21. 2 cups flour

  22. 1 teaspoon salt

  23. 3 teaspoons baking powder

  24. 1/4 cup shortening

  25. 1/4 cup milk

  26. Mix dry ingredients. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles

  27. coarse cornmeal. Add milk all at one time, stir well. Pat out on

  28. floured board, roll out to cover baking dish.
