  4. 4 c Unbleached Flour, Sifted

  5. 2 t Baking Soda

  6. 1 t Salt

  7. 1 t Ground Cinnamon

  8. 1 t Ground Ginger

  9. 1/4 t Ground Cloves

  10. 1/4 t Ground Allspice

  11. 1/4 t Ground Nutmeg

  12. 1 1/3 c Vegetable Shortening

  13. 1 c Sugar

  14. 4 ea Large Eggs, Slightly Beaten

  15. 1 c Molasses

  16. 1 c Butter/Sour Milk

  17. 1 c Raisins Sift together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, allspice

  18. and nutmeg; set aside.

  19. Cream together shortening and sugar in mixing bowl until light anf fluffy,

  20. using electric mixer at medium speed. Add eggs beat well. Blend in

  21. molasses and butter/sour milk. Add dry ingredients all at once, stirring

  22. just enough to moisten. Stir in raisins. Spoon into greased 3-inch

  23. muffin-pan cups, filling 1/2 full.

  24. 350 degree oven

  25. 20 minutes or until golden brown. Serve hot with

  26. butter and jam.

  28. Batter can be stored in refrigerator in covered container for up to 3

  29. weeks. --
