  1. 1 cup 237ml Low-fat yogurt

  2. 1 tablespoon 15ml Sour cream

  3. Finely-grated zest from 1 lemon

  4. 3 tablespoons 45ml Sugar - divided

  5. 12 Fresh figs - (1 1/2 lbs)

  1. Preheat broiler and line broiling pan with a very lightly oiled sheet of foil.

  2. Trim and halve figs. Stir together yogurt, sour cream, zest and 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar until smooth.

  3. Spread remaining 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar on a small plate. Dip cut sides of figs in sugar. Place, cut-sides up, on broiling pan (for best results, arrange figs so they will be directly under the flame). Broil 2 inches from flame until bubbling and caramelized, about 3 minutes.

  4. Serve figs with dip.

  5. This recipe yields 4 servings.
