  1. INGREDIENTS AND DIRECTIONS:

  2. PASTRY:

  3. 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour, sifted

  4. 3/4 tsp. salt

  5. 1/4 c. orange juice

  6. 1/2 c. shortening

  7. Mix flour and salt. Cut in shortening. Add orange juice and mix to form a ball. Roll thin and make bottom crust and cross strips for top.

  8. PIE:

  9. 1/2 c. fresh or frozen orange juice

  10. 4 tart apples, sliced thin

  11. 1 stick butter

  12. 1 c. sugar

  13. 1 tbsp. flour

  14. 1/2 cup of sugar. Cook over low heat until apples look clear. Remove from heat. Stir in combined flour and remaining

  15. 1/2 cup sugar. Pour into pie shell. Top with latticed pastry and bake at

  16. 350 degrees until golden brown.
